Dr Lobzang Stanzen is a Visiting Research Fellow (Sustainable Agriculture and Water Management) at IISD. He also advises IISD's Research and Knowledge Support Drive for Sustainable Development of Jammu & Kashmir, where he manages the Projects in the different sectors; such as Agriculture, Horticulture & Floriculture I particular, and especially the projects related to Sustainable Tourism, Kesar, RS Pura Jammu basmati Rice, which is popularly known as Bhadarwahi Rajma Cultivation, Weed and Water Management, Organic Farming, Agro Meteorology, Industrial Development and Education; in addition to few projects again on Sustainable Tourism, Renewable Energy and Natural Resources Management (NRM); being attached to IISD Investment Advisory, Capacity Building and Research Centre for Ecotourism, Floriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, IT and Education Sectors of UT J&K.

Dr Lobzang is from the one of the mountain communities of Ladakh, who is also a committed Agriculture Scientist by Profession. He did his Ph.D from SKUAST-Jammu and his specialization is in weed science. He is presently serving as Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) / Junior Scientist, Agro Meteorology in KVK Reasi, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) (J&K). Before joining in SKUAST-J, he had served as Assistant Professor, Agronomy in School of Agriculture, Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh and he had also worked with IMD sponsor, FASAL Project in Agro Meteorology Department, SKUAST-Jammu as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF). He is also an active member of Centre for Environment and Economic Development (CEED) and Joint Secretary Publicity of SIDAVES Society as well as Life Member of three other National Scientific Societies. He has more than twenty research papers published, in national and international journals to his credit; in addition to the publication of two books and book chapters in the various edited books. He is also conferred with Young Scientist Awards at International Conferences.
